What is this all about?

Well obviously this is about chicken, fried chicken. There are many forms of fried chicken. Our favorite is what we like to call naked fried chicken, chicken with very little breading and good crispy skin. Our favorite piece of chicken is the thigh, that's just us.

We would love to hear from you! Post a comment or send us a note and let us know your favorite.

The Good, the Bad and the Nostalgic in the Barbecue Chicken Connection Part 1- The Bad.

Here in NC there has always been a connection between Barbecue and Fry Chicken.
The most obvious reasons being they're both very southern and they're both fabulous. So a lot of barbecue places do fried chicken too. In a three part review we'll take a look at the good, the bad and the nostalgic in Barbecue-Chicken connection.

First up Bubba's Barbecue Sunset Rd & I-77
Steve had lunch at Bubba's. A leg and a thigh with brunswick stew and iced tea was $10.50. That's the highest price so far from the places we've reviewed and unfortunately not worth the money. The stew was good but the chicken, although naked fried like we like, was greasy, luke warm and bland. He did mention however that the fried chicken was not the daily specials that day and might be better on a day when it's featured. But for now if you're in that area take Sunset rd to Oakdale rd and Hit the Quik Shoppe instead.

Although great for 'cue, I also have noticed Bubba's is quite high. I'm assuming it's because they are heavily advertised as "authentic" Eastern 'cue to the tourist trade.

Sounds like they fryer wasn't quite hot enough.

Did you mean Fry or Fried, above?
